Beatrix Potter Wrote Stories
Children’s book author, amateur naturalist, and conservationist Beatrix Potter grew up drawing and painting animals with detail and accuracy. She lived in London for many years, but used income from her children’s books to buy hilltop farm in England’s Lake District. Beatrice bought more land to preserve it and left more than 4000 acres, including 16 farms and many herds of sheep and cattle, to the national trust. The land later became part of Lake District national Park.
